Summer times bring vibrant colours, sunshine and lovely outdoor farmers’ markets. When winter rolls around, I thought that all the fun is gone… until I discovered Terra’s Winter Market! Terra at Home is a great store with locations in Milton, Hamilton, Burlington, Vaughan, and Waterdown. For 10 weeks of the winter (January 9th to March 12th) Terra’s Milton and Hamilton locations become home Winter Market which features 40 local vendors. I checked it out.
Vendors sold everything from beef jerky, olive oil, farmers selling beef, chicken, goat, winery, pasta, cheese, baked goods, and so much more!
Here are some highlights!
Sweet potatoes are healthy and delicious! Check out Sweet Potato Johnny’s booth for some sweet potato treats!
Keri, the owner of Wicked Shortbread had some pretty Wicked flavours! The chocolate one was great!
Cathy featured her kombucha! If you haven’t tried this healthy fermented tea, you have to check her booth out!
Shep and Colleen’s artisan cheeses were a hit at the Winter Market! These cheeses are addictive!
Sampling some handmade fresh pasta! Once you taste this, you can never go back to dried packaged pasta!
Soup Girl featured beautiful mason jars filled with dry soup medleys. All you need to do is add water and cook! No excuses not to eat healthy!
Wayne, the owner of Crack House Jerky Company showcased their amazing jerky. It tasted like real meat that was not overly salty (nor rubbery like most store-bought jerky). Their jerky only lasts 3 months which is a great sign that it is not filled with preservatives!
Smokeville served up unbelievable smoked salmon and trout! I could of eat the whole cooler full!
If you love goat cheese, you have to check out Tiffany’s booth – Goats in Motion! They had great body butter too!
Monica’s booth was dangerously good and full of timeless, decadent desserts.
Stop by Top Market Meats for some great cuts of meats! Every option possible! The rabbit is great!
These beautiful sweet carrots from Ralph Lise Farm were as sweet as Farmer Ralph!
You can also grab some good eats with the 50 Pesos Food Truck.
Once you are done browsing the Winter Market, don’t forget to check out the rest of Terra’s at Home Market. They have the most amazing plants throughout the year. Every time I visit, I want to get everything!
Looking forward to coming back to the Winter Market and I will have to definitely plan a trip to visit the Hamilton Winter Market too! Have you been to Terra’s Winter Market? What is your favourite booth?
